Examining the nation’s health from the working-class perspective is not a suggestion but a necessity. Failing to do so leads the country down the path of failed em- pires where workers carry the brunt of abuses and oppression by the ruling class. Men of knowledge have shown that this century-old struggle is the nation’s down- fall. Today, the wealthy are engrossed in corporate finance and the Gross National Product for signs of robustness. At the same time, they turn a blind eye to worker conditions in society: a stark disconnect and blatant injustice of man’s history.

People no longer control resources and distribution, so inequities occur involving union busting, loss of wages and homes, inflation, high rents and interest rates, etc. Over time, supported by the men in high office, the American people allowed politicians to destroy the middle class and abuse workers’ rights and fair play. For generations, politicians and corporations have drained the people’s wealth.

The corporate war advanced years ago with the establishment of the American Legislative Exchange Council. This committee, formed with our elected officials, was meant to debate and enact laws affecting our services, housing, jobs, banking, education, and policy laws for Americans. However, its primary focus has become profit and greed for its donors, not the welfare of the American people. As a result, American workers continue to face abuse and oppression in their fight for human rights against a corrupt and ineffective political system.
